TRADEMARK REGISTRATION

Trademark is a characteristic of your brand, it could be a unique brand name, brand logo or a brand slogan which can be used to distinguish your product or service from your competitors. You can restrict others from using your brand name or logo by registering your trademark. For Ex Toyota, PAYTM – Karo, LIC, and others. Once Trademark is registered, a TM number is provided to the owner within 3 days and they can start using TM symbol next to their logo. In-order to use ® symbol, it will usually take 18 – 24 months to get it registered by the trademark department. Once registered, its an intangible asset and establish rights on the trademark in court and also claim royalties. It will also deter people from using the same brand as their company names.
